Acmena smithii "HOT FLUSH"
Now Syzygium smithii

Acmena smithii occurs naturally from Bundaberg Qld., to Wilson's Promontory Vic., in a variety of habitats and soils and grows well Australia wide.

Acmena smithii minor var."HOT FLUSH" is frost and drought tolerant, a reliable and attractive performer in the garden or in tubs.

At Bullock Creek Nursery we believe that the true potential of this tough and beautiful indigenous plant lies in its ability to replace exotic species commonly used in hedges, parterre, Japanese and Tuscan style gardens

Small neat foliage, stunning colour flushes, a tidy root system and moderate growth means Hot Flush is perfect for topiaries, pot culture and small gardens.

Hot Flush thrives on attention! Regular pruning, regular fertilizer and ample water will reward the grower with spectacular flushes of burgundy, pink, lime and bronze from Autumn through to mid Summer.

Of particular note is that the plant is not affected by the disfiguring pimple psyllid (Triosa eugeniae), and is resistant to Phytophthora.
